LiFE have had a close relationship with the Jewish charity Norwood for many years. We believe in their vision, their achievements and their desire to keep on helping and supporting vulnerable children & their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities and autism. In 2017, two of our director's even did a sponsored bike ride in Kerala to help support them further.
Last night (Feb 1st 2018) they held their annual YN Property Awards Dinner, recognising talented young property professionals. This year, the investment arm of the business, LiFE Ventures, were a key sponsor of the event. Founder and MD of LiFE, Jon Werth commented:
"How amazing to support young individuals looking to make it in the corporate world, and at the same time support a worthy charitable cause that we can all relate to."
With several fundraising events, including a raffle and auction, Norwood managed to raise a whopping £155,000 which will enable them to continue their invaluable work.
Wayne Chodosh, who wanted to share a personal story on how Norwood have helped him and his son, gave a very moving speech, explaining the difference Norwood has made to both his son’s life and to his own and how he feels so lucky to have met them. This bought reality home to a lot of people, as did Norwood's charity appeal video featuring some of the young people they have helped.
However, there were plenty of laughs to be had thanks to world-class ventriloquist Nina Conti, getting everyone giggling with her monkey assistant and two audience-memeber helpers. We're more concerned about how Billy from the audience explained the rather risque call Ian Royce, the chief toastmaster, made to his mum live in front of everyone!
One of our investees, KeyNest, a smart key management solution, were nominated for YN Property Technology Company of the Year, but unfortunately they didn't walk away with the award. Another company who we are working with closely this year, Fixflo, who manage repairs and maintenance digitally, stole the award and were very deserving winners.
Special thanks to Norwood for organising the event and for putting on such a great evening - till the next one!
