Wander around and it’s hard to miss the suit-filled skyscrapers, extravagant shopping centres and beautiful restaurants that fill the financial district that is Canary Wharf. Even at night, they are lit up in an array of bright colour, sure to help even those easily lost. And though these marvellous creations are part of its charm, you won’t want to miss the hidden gems featured in LiFE’s hidden gems.

Doctor Kluger's Olde Towne Tavern

Inside Doctor Klugers Old Towne Tavern in Canary Wharf

Doctor Kluger’s Olde Towne Tavern is a dive bar with a difference. Wooden panel walls with disco balls reflecting wonderful colour brighten up the dimly lit but ambient room, full of staff ready to serve. Recline on chesterfields as you choose from a menu of inspired, yet delicious drinks. We prescribe their good time tonics, especially ‘#2 A BLOODY GOOD TIME’, infused with vodka, lemongrass, lemon, violet and soda (who doesn’t love a bloody good time?). Don’t be afraid to ask for any of their classics at the bar, as your inquisitiveness could aid your evening, as well as the encouraged table-top dancing to music matching that kick in the drinks. This is a doctor’s visit you won’t need an appointment for, and one you will actually enjoy. Just be sure to ask for the doctor at the door for entry.

Third Space

After that night out, you might fancy a more relaxing spa day. Third Space is a lavish health club, offering facials, manicures, pedicures, body scrubs and massages among other rejuvenating treatments sure to make you feel brand new. For those more awake days, try one of the club’s 210 classes, including Hardcore Cycle, Pilates Fit and FIGHT KLUB. The latter incorporates boxing, kick boxing and dancing where you move and kick to fast-paced music. With a cycle studio, free weights zone, sports hall and pool, you’ll want to exercise there forever.

Mudchute Park and Farm

A fair at Mudchute Park and Farm in Canary Wharf

Another hidden treasure is Mudchute Park and Farm. Set within 32 acres of glorious greenery with the glass jungle behind still visible, this farm has all your usual farm favourites, as well as llamas and alpacas to keep you entertained. Two of their lambs and ducklings appeared on ITV’s, ‘This Morning’ in March, so we’re sure they could tell you some stories about Holly and Phillip. At their Equestrian Centre, they offer riding lessons for all ages and abilities, and with 10 horses to choose from, and a further 5 joining soon, you’ll never be stuck in the stables. With events including Tough Mudder and the Summer Party, this is a gem that keeps on shining.

From a fun night out to a relaxing spa day and getting back to nature in between, you never know where LiFE in Canary Wharf will take you.
